Coach's Corner: Stuck on Dinner? Ask Mia.

Coach's Corner: Stuck on Dinner? Ask Mia.

Written by Doris Romano, RN

It's 5:30 p.m.

You've just finished work.

One child refuses broccoli. Another insists carrots are "gross." The chicken is still frozen. And everyone is hungry.

Or maybe it's just you.

You've had a long day, the fridge is looking a little sparse, and the thought of figuring out dinner feels like one more decision than your brain can handle.

As coaches, we often focus on what to eat.

But one of the biggest barriers to healthy eating isn't nutrition knowledge.

It's decision fatigue.

The challenge isn't knowing vegetables are healthy.

The challenge is standing in front of the refrigerator wondering:

"What can I make with this?"

That's where Mia can help. Mia is the RxFood in-app health coach, powered by nutrition intelligence.

Turn Your Fridge Into Dinner

Many people think of Mia as a source of nutrition information, but she's also a practical problem-solving tool.

Try opening the chat in the RxFood app and typing something like:

I have chicken breasts, spinach, cherry tomatoes, rice, garlic, and feta cheese. What can I make for dinner?

Within seconds, Mia can generate meal ideas, recipes, cooking instructions, and even suggestions for substitutions.

No grocery trip required.

No scrolling recipe websites.

No wondering whether the ingredients go together.

Just a starting point.

Sometimes that's all people need.

Mia Can Adapt to Real Life

What makes AI tools particularly useful isn't simply generating recipes.

It's the ability to adapt them to your circumstances.

For example:

Feeding picky eaters?

Try:

I'm making this for three children. One doesn't like cooked vegetables. How can I modify this meal?

Short on time?

Try:

I only have 15 minutes. What's the fastest version of this recipe?

Looking to include more vegetables?

Try:

How could I add another serving of vegetables to this meal?

Need more protein?

Try:

Can you adjust this recipe so it contains at least 30 grams of protein per serving?

Missing an ingredient?

Try:

I don't have garlic or feta. What could I use instead?

These small adjustments help bridge the gap between intention and action.

Why This Matters

One of the things we often discuss in coaching is reducing friction.

When healthy choices require less effort, they're more likely to happen.

Sometimes the barrier isn't motivation.

It's standing in the kitchen feeling stuck.

The longer we spend trying to decide what to make, the more tempting takeout can become.

Tools like Mia can help remove some of that mental load by offering ideas, alternatives, and solutions in real time.

Not because AI knows what's best for you.

But because it helps you move from "I have no idea what to make" to "I can do that."

What Mia Can Do (and What Coaches Still Do Best)

Mia is great at helping with meal ideas, ingredient substitutions, quick recipes, and nutrition questions.

But coaching brings something different.

A coach helps you understand your habits, navigate obstacles, build routines, stay accountable, and create strategies that fit your unique life.

In other words, Mia can help answer:

"What can I make with chicken, spinach, and rice?"

A coach helps answer:

"Why does dinner feel stressful every night, and what systems would make it easier?"

Together, they can be a powerful combination.

The next time you're staring into the fridge wondering what to make for dinner, try asking Mia.

You might be surprised by what she comes up with.
